Robert Bäckström is a Swedish game producer, business angel and business developer. He has more than 15 years of experience as a game producer and more than 10 titles, including "Lead and Gold", "Bionic Commando", "Vermintide", "Sable", "West of Dead", "Mosaic", "Call of the Sea", and "Terminator Salvation".

 

He is a key player in the Swedish gaming industry, having worked, among others, at Raw Fury and Fat Shark, but also in IP with knowledge of console, PC, publishing and business development. He works mainly with premium games within the indie segment but also with games as a service. Robert founded and head the game studio collective Aurora Punks.

 

Robert is also an angel investor & DIY-believer, with experience in several start-ups. He is a co-founder of Bright Gambit, a private investment fund, investing in games made by small development teams working with modest budgets, coming from diverse communities around the world. Robert partnered together with Juliette Auverny-Bennetot, entertainment lawyer at Paradox Interactive, and Raw Fury Karl Magnus Troedsson, game developer & studio leader (at EA, DICE and UDS) turned investor, Fawzi Mesmar, award-winning Game designer (at Ubisoft, EA, Activision Blizzard, Gameloft and Atlus) among others.
 

He is an investor in game studios in Scandinavia, France and the UK.
